With its trademark humor, intriguing characters, unexpected storyline and stunning visuals, Marvel has delivered yet another undeniably good sequel. I say good because it may lack the powerful punch of the original but the sequel is enjoyable to watch.
This time, the titular guardians struggle to keep their newfound family together while Peter Quill aka Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) meets his father for the first time played by Kurt Russell.
On a personal note, I watched it on a pre-release screening, 1st May aka Worker’s Day, so that was exciting :).
Pros:
Story:
Part of the storyline has unexpected and interesting twists and turns of events (which will not be spoiled here).
Characters:
As usual, the characters are fun and vibrant and even complex, especially Baby Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) who is absolutely the adorable scene-stealer of the whole film. Also be sure to check out for Howard the duck voiced by Seth Green and an excellent cameo by the likes of Sylvester Stallone and of course Stan Lee.
Humor:
The humor has not lost its touch from the original as it is bound to make anyone laugh with a specific joke.
Visuals:
As it is Marvel, there are gorgeous and colorful visuals.
Music:
When it is orchestral music playing during the battle scenes, it sounds like you are listening to the powerful Two Steps from Hell. The soundtrack is definitely top-notch.
Action:
As it is Marvel, viewers can expect to find heart-pounding and sometimes funny battle sequences.
Cons:
Freshness:
As mentioned earlier, it lacks what made the original great, however, that doesn’t stop the fact that the sequel is entertaining in its own right.
Overall, an exciting must-see for Marvel fans and for those who like action or superhero or a blend between the genres. It might be considered to be fun summer entertainment in the USA.
