Bane: “No one cared who I was until I put on the mask.”
“The Dark Knight Rises” was released on this day July 20th 2012, making the film 5 years old as of today.
Set after the events of “The Dark Knight” (2008) specifically eights years after the Joker’s reign of terror, Batman (played by Oscar winner Christian Bale) is forced from his exile to save Gotham City once again, with the help from Selina Kyle/Catwoman (played by Oscar winner Anne Hathaway) from a brutal terrorist known as Bane (played by Oscar nominee Tom Hardy).
On a critical note, the performances are superb, particular praise goes to Hardy’s performance who totally steals the show, and the action sequences should thrill fans of the superhero genre while the story brings emotion and energy like its predecessors and a wonderful conclusion to end the trilogy.
Fun fact; the film was BAFTA (British Academy Film and Television Awards) nominated for Best Visual Effects.
If you like the actors that also includes Oscar winner Michael Caine, Oscar nominee Gary Oldman, Oscar winner Morgan Freeman and others, as well as a fan of Batman, action or the superhero genre and in the mood for an exhilarating ride, then this is for you, or for anyone you know, who likes the aforementioned aspects.
