Now it is…Review Time!
Before I begin, I have mentioned before how long I’ve been eagerly and excitedly waiting for this particular movie…
Also, on a fun note, I watched it with friends on its opening day, 29/9/2017, in South Africa.
Although it lacks the spark from The Secret Service, Kingsman: The Golden Circle makes up for it by its star-studded cast, trademark action and overkill, and stunning choreography.
Following the events of its predecessor, the film follows the Kingsman agents who, after their headquarters is blown up by the psychotic Poppy Adams (Oscar winner Julianne Moore), partner up with their American counterparts; the Statesmen, in order to prevent a global threat.
Pros:
Action:
One of the highlights that the sequel does right, is keeping its action sequences in par with the first film.
Cameo:
Perhaps one of the most funniest cameos you will ever see, in this case, Elton John who is bound to make any viewer laugh.
Cast:
One of the best assembled casts with the likes of Oscar winners Colin Firth, the mentioned Julianne Moore and Elton John, Halle Berry and Jeff Bridges, as well as BAFTA nominee Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Pedro Pascal, and Golden Globe nominee Michael Gambon in a brief role.
Characters:
Entertaining, both central and supporting.
Choreography:
As said previously, excellent.
Humor:
Moments of great hilarity.
Cons:
Killing off Beloved Characters:
Why the filmmakers decided to rid off beloved characters is unexpected and upsetting, which will not be spoiled here.
Lack of Originality:
As mentioned previously, the sequel lacks originality that made the first film brilliant, but the second is good in its own way.
Overall, a fun film for those who are into the action genre, and should satisfy Kingsman fans.
