22 October 2017; “First Blood” (1982) Throwback

Get ready for today’s…Blast from the Past!

From director Ted Kotcheff, comes this action classic…

John Rambo: “They drew first blood”.

“First Blood” released on this day October 22nd 1982, making the film 35 years old as of today.

Based on David Morrell’s 1972 novel of the same name, the film follows a former Green Beret and war hero John Rambo ( Oscar nominee Sylvester Stallone) who must rely on his combat and survival skills in order to fight against an oppressive cop and his deputies while hiding in the mountains.

Fun fact; the film is considered today a cult and an influential film in the action genre, and it also marks another iconic Stallone character role following his endearing “Rocky” character six years before “First Blood” was released.

Some of the film’s highlights includes the stellar performances by Stallone (who also did part of the screenplay), Golden Globe nominee Richard Crenna and Golden Globe winner Brian Dennehy, the heart-pounding and touching music score by Oscar winner Jerry Goldsmith, gunshot sound effects and action sequences.

If you are looking for a fun 80s action #flick, then this is for you, or for anyone you know, who likes the aforementioned aspects.
