Get ready for today’s…Blast from the Past!
From Primetime Emmy winning director Steve Martino, and Jimmy Hayward, comes this animated adventure comedy…
Horton: “A person’s a person, no matter how small.”
“Horton Hears a Who!” released on this day March 14th 2008, making the film 10 years old as of today.
Based on Dr. Seuss’ 1954 children’s book of the same name, the story follows Horton (voiced by Golden Globe winner Jim Carrey), a sweet-natured and comic elephant who discovers a dust speck that is actually the tiny world of Whoville. He befriends the town’s Mayor (voiced by Oscar nominee Steve Carell) and tries to convince his jungle community about the existence of his newfound world and friends, however, the Head of the Jungle of Nool, the ill-tempered Kangaroo (voiced by Golden Globe winner Carol Burnett) has plans to get rid of the dust speck.
Fun fact; the flick was shipped to some theatres under the codename “88 Keys”.
Some of the film’s highlights include the plot, voice cast, animation, and endearing message about acceptance and friendship which also includes the listed quote being Horton’s motto.
If you are looking for a charming family treat or in the mood for animated fun, then this is for you, or for anyone you know, who likes the aforementioned aspects.
Recommended to animation and Dr. Seuss fans.
