17 April 2018; “Paulie” (1998) Throwback

Get ready for today’s…Blast from the Past!

From John Roberts, comes this charming family drama adventure…

Paulie: “There are things in life you put off, because you think you’re gonna do them later. But the real thing Ivy taught me is you gotta live like there may not be a later.”

“Paulie” released on this day April 17th 1998, making the film 20 years old as of today.

Fun fact; the film is considered a favourite to Oscar nominee Amy Adams.

On a personal note, I remember that I got the film in VHS as a present from an old friend when I was 9 or 10 years of age.

The film follows the titular talking parrot (voiced by Primetime Emmy nominee Jay Mohr) as he tells a Russian janitor (Golden Globe winner Tony Shalhoub) his story about his original owner; the sweet child Marie (Hallie Eisenberg) who suffered with a stutter, and his journey to reunite with her.

If you are looking for a family treat of a movie or a film for those who admire birds, then this is for you, or for anyone you know, who likes the aforementioned aspects.
