25 November 2019; “Ford V Ferrari” Review

Now it is…Review Time!

Thrilling race sequences, powerful and heartfelt performances, brilliant cinematography, entertaining screenplay, stellar direction by James Mangold – who also directed 2017’s “Logan” to name a few, and such an adrenaline rush – pun intended – Ford V Ferrari is a biopic that is likely to take anyone – whether you are a racing enthusiast or not – for a wild ride as well as an intriguing trip back in time during the 1960s.

The true story revolves around the friendship between American automotive designer Carroll Shelby and British race car driver Ken Miles, played by Oscar winners Matt Damon and Christian Bale respectively, as they struggle against corporate interference, laws of physics, as well as their own personal troubles to build a one-of-a-kind race car for the Ford Motor company. During their journey, both men plan to compete against the Enzo Ferrari race cars at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France which took place in the year 1966.

Pros;

Cast:

Surprising when the film was first announced as well as stellar, as mentioned before.

Entertainment Value:

Undeniable for if you like the motion picture as a whole.

Performances:

Fantastic.

Cons;

Character behaviour:

Some audiences might not like the behaviour of Ken Miles for his hot-headedness.

Overall, a highly entertaining and brilliant biopic that is guaranteed to make the viewing an enjoyable time for almost anyone. Honestly, I won’t be surprised if the film gets Oscar nominations which is not impossible. Also, dear readers, keep an eye out for the upcoming Golden Globe 2020 ceremony happening next month for Christian Bale is nominated for his role in the movie which I personally think he deserves.

Recommended to fans of the listed actors, biopics, history, and cars.

My own picture taken at the cinema.
