Less than 5-word critique: shocking and compelling.
Honestly, I have mixed reception regarding “A Reaper at the Gates”. There are some bits that left me jaw dropping while there are sections that just weren’t enjoyable unlike the first two books. Which is why I give this second sequel 4 stars at least.
Without giving too much away, the characters; Laia, Elias, and Helene are now in a bigger pickle than ever that includes saving people from huge threats.
Tahir’s storytelling and world-building is top-notch once again.
Recommended to those who enjoy:
*Game of Thrones vibes
*Strong characters
*Paranormal aspects
*Forbidden romance
*Villains you can’t help but hate
*Twists and turns
